House of Voltaire
NADA Art Fair, Miami
5 December - 8 December 2013
House of Voltaire 2010 at Rupert Sanderson, London
House of Voltaire makes a special appearance at NADA Art Fair in Miami.
On sale at the fair is a range of original art works and editions, with the proceeds of which raising much needed funds for Studio Voltaire’s renowned gallery and education programmes.
Commissioned especially for House of Voltaire’s first-ever international presentation, new limited editions by leading artists and designers include: a series of beach towels designed by Alexandre da Cunha, Ella Kruglyanskaya and Louise Gray; tea towels by Peter Saville, a beach bag by Matthew Brannon and a print edition by Judith Bernstein.
House of Voltaire draws inspiration from the concept of fashion ateliers as well as artist’s shops, most notably Keith Haring’s Pop Shop and the Bloomsbury Group’s Omega Workshops. The shop sells works by both established and emerging artists, many of whom have been previously supported by Studio Voltaire. Participating artists and designers include Allora & Calzadilla, Cory Arcangel, Pablo Bronstein, Steven Claydon, Alice Channer, Matthew Darbyshire, Peter Jensen & Laurie Simmons, Sanya Kantarovsky, Richard Nicoll, Paulina Olowska, Elizabeth Peyton, Peter Pilotto & Francis Upritchard, Rosemarie Trockel and Francesco Vezzoli.
Each December in Miami, NADA runs a renowned art fair to vigorously pursue their goals of exploring new or underexposed art that is not typical of the “art establishment.” NADA’s fair is held in parallel with Art Basel Miami Beach and is recognised as a much needed alternative assembly of the world’s youngest and strongest art galleries dealing with emerging Contemporary Art. It is the only major American art fair to be run by a non-profit organization.
