Studio Voltaire hosts a rolling programme of research and production residencies for UK-based and international artists and curators. These programmes bring new artists into the city and provide important opportunities for international exchange, artistic development, and networking.

Two new live/work Residency Studios, established as part of The Studio Voltaire Capital Project, allow us to host residencies for periods of up to three months. Our new residency programmes build on Studio Voltaire’s long history of onsite production residencies, supporting artists to create a significant body of new work.

Previous residency artists have included Thea Djordjadze (2007), Nairy Baghramian (2009), Nicole Eisenman (2012), Judith Bernstein (2014), Sol Calero (2015) and Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley (2019). Resident artists and curators engage with Studio Voltaire across our studio, exhibition and participation programmes.
